The incredible hubris of National Review

Here is the insanity and incredible hubris of the current GOP and National Review’s argument that Donald Trump is not conservative…

Unbelievably after giving us many decades of looking just like Democrats, the GOP and NR are talking conservative values! After watching segment after segment of “The Architect” Karl Rove on that “Uber Conservative” channel Fox News, with his whiteboard in hand, telling “conservatives” they need to bend this way and that way to get Latino votes, Black votes, Independent votes – I never once heard him reference conservative principles! No, no… getting the vote that is what matters!

“Time and again in this century, the political map of the world was transformed. And in each instance, a New World Order came about through the advent of a new tyrant or the outbreak of a bloody global war, or its end.” – George H. W. Bush

After giving us New World Order George H. W. Bush who pledged,
no new taxes” in 1988, we got New Taxes. He also gave us the Immigration
Act of 1990 (some of it good, but none would consider it a bastion of Conservative
ideals). We also got the over-reaching big government mandate to states of the
Clean Air Act. President George H. W. Bush racked up a $1.03 trillion deficit.

“I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system.” –George W. Bush

How about George W. Bush. Didn’t he create a new large government agency called DHS? Didn’t we have an option of bolstering what was already in place? It does not sound like a conservative ideal to create new large government agencies with overlapping duties… does it? A CATO report from 2005, based on revised data released during the summer by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), making a side-by-side comparison of the spending habits of each president during the last 40 years, shows that “George W. Bush is one of the biggest spenders of them all. In fact, he is an even bigger spender than Lyndon B. Johnson in terms of discretionary spending”. That sounds conservative! Add to that a 100 Billion farm bill, $15 Billion African Aid package, a $400 billion Medicare prescription drug bill, and let’s not forget federalizing all airport screeners. Where was NR on those?

“It really does serve as the blueprint for the Affordable Care Act,” said David Sims, an Obama deputy senior adviser for communications and strategy.

Then we have our next Republican Conservative Choice – Mitt!

Rush Limbaugh: Romney Is Not A Conservative

“Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our party’s values on his own. That has not happened,”

Do we even have to discuss Senator McCain – our other Conservative
option from the GOP?

Scarborough Rips McCain: ‘That Is Not a Conservative’

Wow – you know you are in trouble when Scarborough calls you out for not being conservative!

Would it be too crass to say…

National Review – WTF?

GOP-NR may well think all Trump supporters are stupid. However, it may well be time for a new party; the neocons have destroyed the GOP and any semblance of conservative ideals. Now that an outsider wants to, at the minimum, build a border – the neocons find their conservative stones.

I am not buying it!
